GRE - GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION
Students applying to graduate school take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test. The test questions are designed to measure verbal, quantitative and analytical writing skills and are not necessarily related to any particular field of study. The test reflects the opportunities and efforts that have contributed to the development of these abilities. At IMFS, in addition to the regular pattern of teaching, students shall undergo vigorous training in writing essays. To ensure your success in writing forceful and grammatically correct essays, you will be taught requisite essay composition skills and basic English grammar.

TOEFL - TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test has been designed by ETS, Education Testing Services, to allow colleges and universities to measure the ability of non native speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.
The TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four-language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the necessary skills in English needed for success at the college/ university.

You are given the option of canceling your scores at the end of your test session. You cannot cancel scores for individual sections of the test. Reinstatement of canceled scores for the TOEFL – iBT is chargeable at US$20. The TOEFL test can be given as many times as one wishes.
The student has the option before the test to list down names of four universities on the TOEFL form that will be sent to the universities free of cost.

IELTS - INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an entrance requirement to academic courses, secondary, vocational and training programs by the majority of universities and institutions abroad. Increasingly, American universities have started accepting valid scores in IELTS for admission to the Under-Graduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate courses. The IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication.
TEST FORMAT
Candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
– The first three modules – Listening, Reading and Writing must be completed in one day.
– The Speaking may be taken, at the discretion of the test center, on the same day or up to two days later.

The examination fee for IELTS is Rs. 14,700/-. One can register online and pay the test fee by credit card (Master/VISA) or register in person at the British Consulate in Mumbai.

SAT - SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST
The SAT is a standardized aptitude test for undergraduate college admissions in the United States. All colleges accept the SAT as an objective measurement of students college readiness. The SAT is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in the United States and is developed, published, and scored by the College Board. THE TWO COMMON WAYS OF REGISTERING FOR SAT:
1. By mail: Obtain the “SAT Information Bulletin” available free with USEFI offices, from college board website or from the IMFS offices.
2. Online Registration (Credit Card required): www.ets.org. Fill up the form online and mention your credit card number. This is the easiest way to register for SAT.
Test Scores: Test Scores are valid for 5 years. The three parts of the test are scored independently. Scores are available online and by phone in three weeks. Official score reports are provided about five weeks after the test is administered. Students who have an active College Board online account will automatically get their SAT scores through My SAT Online Score Report only unless they request a paper score report.
